Dr. Theresa Stigen and Mystical Rose Obstetrics and Gynecology are committed to offering authentic, quality, and pro-life healthcare for all women. Our solo OB/GYN practice features Natural Procreative Technology (aka NaProTechnology, or NaPro), a unique approach to women’s health that empowers women to understand, appreciate, and cooperate with their natural fertility.
About Dr. Theresa Stigen
Dr. Theresa Stigen is a Catholic OB/GYN committed to improving women’s health through NaProTechnology.
Dr. Stigen earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed her residency in OB/GYN at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. She then completed the Pope John Paul II Fellowship in Medical and Surgical NaProTechnology at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska.
In August 2009, Dr. Stigen opened Mystical Rose OB/GYN in Fallbrook, California, the Avocado Capital of the World. Dr. Stigen’s most cherished accomplishment is her happy marriage to her husband, Shilo. They live in Southern California together with their 4 lovable sons.

Mystical Rose Obstetrics and Gynecology is a Catholic, pro-life, pro-woman medical practice that is committed to serving the health needs of its patients with professional excellence and compassionate care. We find inspiration for our model of womanly grace and beauty in the Mystical Rose, Mary the Mother of Jesus. We are honored to use our God-given talents to help women continue to lead healthy and happy lives.
Mystical Rose Obstetrics and Gynecology is proud to offer NaProTechnology, an approach to women’s health care which identifies and corrects underlying causes of illness in a way that respects and cooperates with a woman’s body. As part of this philosophy of health, we prescribe bioidentical hormones and do not administer artificial hormones of any kind, including those found in hormonal contraceptives. We provide support and referrals for services related to unexpected pregnancies, natural family planning, infertility, cord blood stem cell technology and hospice services. In keeping with our Catholic identity, we do not provide or refer for abortion, contraception, emergency contraception, sterilization, artificial reproductive technologies, embryonic stem cell or euthanasia services.

The Origin of Our Practice Name: Mystical Rose
The name of our medical practice comes from “Mystical Rose”, our favorite title for Mary, the Mother of God, found in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It reflects Mary’s intimate relationship with the Holy Trinity through her “Yes” to God’s plan for salvation by bearing His son Jesus in her womb. Mary chose to be a blessing for life in the most radical way, and we pray that we may also choose to be a blessing for life through our service to you.
